The collection is composed of 1) Documents and publications: Several memos/correspondences re Golden Jubilee Jamboree, original badge certificates and appointment forms (1954-1957), Bulletin No.2, No.6, 1958, daily programmes for Jubilee Jamboree, 1957, autograph books for Jubilee Jamboree, picture Log of the Jubilee Jamboree, Indaba, Moot (England, Sutton Park, 1957), booklet entitled "Hong Kong Boy Scouts Jamborette, 19th-22nd Oct., 1957," a Jamborette handbook, a collection of Jubilee Journals, nos. 1-8, 10, 1957, and Jamboree newspapers; 2) Scout cloth and metal badges: a collection of Scout badges from Hong Kong, the UK, and elsewhere, including the official Jubilee Jamboree participant badge, 1957, the official Hong Kong Colony Jamborette participant badge, 1957, several pre-APR proficiency badges, a number of foreign district/county badges, a collection of metal Scout badges from Hong Kong, the UK, and elsewhere, including a metal Colony Jamborette commemorative badge dated 1957; 3) Other memorabilia: 3 Scout scarves, a Scout Statuette with base, a Scout medallion with base, A copper commemorative plate of the Jubilee Jamboree at Sutton Coldfield, and several misc. commemorative badges from local schools, exhibition of HK products, scout pennants, a souvenir from the Town of Sutton Coldfield,and writing pads of the Jubilee Jamboree and HK Contingent, 1957, etc.

Abstract

This collection is composed of Scout documents, publications, and memorabilia from 1950s, mostly related to the Jubilee Jamboree held in Sutton Park, UK in 1957, donated by Robert KY Chow.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The collection of Scout dpcuments, publications and memorabilia was donated to the Hong Kong Scout Archives by Robert K Y CHOW through a series of transfers starting 2009 through to 2011. These transfers were accessed as they occurred, and re-processed in 2015.
