Scope and Contents
This is a collection of copies/partial copies of mostly primary and some secondary documents, records and publications and other sources on or related to the history of the (Boy) Scout Movement in Hong Kong, covering the period from the 1900s through to the 20001940s, and is composed of 1) copies of government reports and other publications from the Hong Kong Government or the Colonial Office, etc. incl. the Hong Kong Government Gazette and the Education Report; the Hong Kong Census, the Hong Kong Blue Book; 2) articles from daily/weekly/monthly newspaper such as the South China Morning Post, the Hong Kong Weekly Press, the China Mail, the Hong Kong Daily Press, the Hong Kong Telegraph, the Hong Kong Sunday Herald, the Straits Times, etc.; 3) articles in Scouting magazines, including the Boy Scouts Heaquarters Gazette and Hong Kong Scouting, etc; 4) letters and manuscripts related to Hong Kong from the Gilwell Archives in the UK, etc., both to and from Hong Kong, etc.; 5) sources related to the history of YMCA, Boys' Brigade, Boys and Girls' Assn. and schools esp. in Hong Kong, etc.; 6) Hong Kong Public Records Offic (PRO) documents on history of Hong Kong esp. its education, schools, churches, the war, the press, etc.; 7) copies of primary and secondary sources on history of Scouting and related topics around the world, etc.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
This collection was acquired by the Archives as a gift from Dr. Paul KUA in 2012. It was accessed in the same year, and re-processed in September 2015.
